Opis
Chesnut honey has a strong, aromatic and slightly bitter taste. It is rich in pollen, mineral salts and tannin, with high content of fructose that resists crystalization and relatively low acidity. In our area, chesnut honey is dark red in color, sometimes with amber shades. It has an aromatic, specifically sharp herbal color and taste and it is slightly tannic because of the presence of tannis in chesnut wood. The taste is unique, not too sweet, almost bitter and very persistent. It is highly valued among the people who like strong honey that is not too sweet.
Chesnut honey helps with disorders of the digestive system and has a positive effect on stomach ulcers, bacteria in the urinary canal, as well as against acid and heartburn. Due to its aroma, chesnut honey is extremely suitable for making homemade cakes like gingerbread, due to its specific aroma.
