Propolis s a resinous blend that bees collect from the tree buds, various plant juices and other sources of plant origin. Bees use it to disinfect and seal holes in the hive to create a sterile and healthy environment. The composition of propolis varies from hive to hive, from district to district, and from season to season. Normally, it is dark brown in color, but can be found in green, red, black and even white shades, depending on the resin sources in the area where bees bring propolis to the hive.
